Our Mission

Everyone deserves safety.
Vaccines are the safest path through viral season.


In September of 2025 Louisiana pharmacies began requiring prescriptions for COVID vaccinations, creating a barrier to life-saving care, leaving millions at risk. At Doctors for Access, we fought to remove that barrier and protect the Lafayette community.


On October 3rd, 2025 our prescription clinic helped over fifty residents access the life-saving protection of a COVID vaccine.

On October 6th, the CDC announced that pharmacists are officially able to advise patients on COVID vaccines. Starting October 7th, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart corporate policy removed the vaccine requirement in Louisiana. Costco has yet to update their policy as of October 14th.

Doctors for Access remains committed to monitoring for and removing barriers to vaccine access and information.
